As we age, we primarily face two issues: Loss of volume, and laxity of facial tissues.
Today, we are lucky to be able to have several choices in treatment options. Hyaluronic acid fillers being one of these options.
Loss of volume in the face can result in a hollowing of the cheek area. This loss of volume can occur in the front “apple” of the cheek, leaving it with a sunken or flattened appearance. Another area of loss is along the ascending cheekbone area known as the zygomatic arch, which runs up towards the ear.
When we were young, most of us had nice full faces, including full and rounded cheeks. As time passed, we begin to notice a hollowing and more tired appearance. By adding filler in the flattened cheek mound, and along the cheekbone area , you can virtually watch the youth return, right before your eyes! Many times just a simple linear area of filler along the arch, and voila! You’ve got cheekbones!
Dermal fillers such as VOLUMA and Juvederm are excellent choices for this treatment. Both are hyaluronic acids, a sugar occurring naturally in our bodies, and both are completely reversible. VOLUMA is intended exclusively for use in mid face for its superior lifting properties.
The results last up to 12 months with Juvederm, and up to 24 months with VOLUMA.
As always, I specialize in a soft and natural correction. Filler is a science, but it is also an art form. One should look rested, and refreshed, never overdone.
It’s you only better!
