National Healthy Skin Month

The American Academy of Dermatology recognizes November as National Healthy Skin Month! As the skin is your largest organ, it is important that you do everything in your power to keep it healthy and glowing. Whether you take more serious measures to make sure your skin looks good, such as a tightening facelift in Naperville, Il, or you are hoping to establish a skin care routine, there are measures that we can take to keep our skin healthy.

Here are some tips to help your skin be the best it can be!

Moisturizer

No matter what kind of skin you have, you should always aim to keep it moisturized. This will help to ensure it doesn’t flake or become irritated because it is too dry. When your skin is moisturized, it creates a protective barrier to the outside world, especially during the winter.

Cleanser

An important part of taking care of your skin involves making sure your skin is clean. If you wear makeup, make sure that you take it off before you go to bed. However, make sure that you don’t over-wash your skin, as this could lead to the stripping of your skin’s natural oils.

Sunscreen

You should wear some form of sunscreen every day. Make sure you read the labels on the bottle and pick a product that is right for your skin type. You should wear sunscreen with at least 30 SPF for optimal coverage, and it should be applied at least 15 minutes before you head out the door.
