Rhinoplasty, or cosmetic surgery of the nose, can create a dramatic improvement in a person’s appearance. From a personal standpoint, I find Rhinoplasty can be one of the most gratifying procedures that I provide. The changes create an overall improved balance of the face and a lifetime of improvement.
Rhinoplasty is recognized as one of the most difficult cosmetic procedures. Rhinoplasty requires specific expertise as the nose is not only cosmetically important but also functionally important from the standpoint of breathing.. The surgeon must take into account the form and function of the nose when shaping the underlying structure. I focused my training initially in ENT so that I could gain specialized experience in nasal surgery prior to doing a facial plastic surgery fellowship. After five years of training in ENT, I completed a fellowship in facial plastic surgery and received specialized training in Rhinoplasty. Now, after nearly 20 years in practice, I have tremendous experience and expertise in this area and have been achieving excellent results for my patients.
During the initial consultation, I offer cosmetic imaging so that I can demonstrate the possible changes. Digital photos are taken in our studio during the consultation and then I computer image the proposed changes on our computer system. I feel that imaging is essential with Rhinoplasty as I can demonstrate the improvement and patients can verify that the changes meet their expectations before having surgery.
